On the death of his father in 1965 an A Kelly was listed as a next of kin so it would have been Ned as he was called.

Arthur Denis Albert Kelly was the only Arthur Kelly born in Tas and listed in the WW II records. He was in the Royal Australian Air Force Service Number 88985 and was born on 7 Sep 1910 in Hobart, Tas. He enlisted on 30 Mar 1944 and was discharged 17 Apr 1946 as a Leading Aircraftman from 22 Medical Receiving Station. His next of kin was Linda Kelly. Family information indicates he was in New Guinea and saw a lot of mutilated bodies of nurses.

In 1956, Fay his niece recalls the first time she can remember meeting him in Burnie. He came into where she was working and introduced himself only to find this was his niece. He was a big man and rather rude. At the time he was working for BIC Cables and later became MD of British Insulated Callender Cables. He then came to see the family shortly after at Terriland St or Mentelle St Burnie and it was the only times Faye met him. Monica only met him twice. She went to tell him his father had died only to be told lets get it over with as quickly as possible.

Arthur Denis Albert Kelly died in Oct 1972 of a heart attack in the foyer of the Calvery Hospital, Tas where he was going to have a test done as he was quite over weight. He was burried on 27 Oct 1972 in the Cornelian Bay Cemetery, Hobart, Tas Area C of E Section CL Site 375. His last residence was New Town, Tas. On his grave it had Arthur Denis 'Ned" Kelly.

Arthur married Linda Bell HIBBARD, daughter of Henry HIBBARD and Jessie Matilda HURTIS. (Linda Bell HIBBARD was born on 12 May 1907 in Hobart, Tasmania, died in Jul 1974 and was buried on 20 Jul 1974 in Cornelian Bay Cemetery, Hobart, Tas.)
