bullet  General Notes:

Ann Goulding in the England and Wales, Civil Registration Index: 1837-1983 birth registered Jul-Aug-Sept 1888 at Gainsborough, Lincolnshire Vol Page .

By the 1891 census, John Goulding was still living in Walkerith Rd at the village of Morton in the rural Sanitary District of Gainsborough in the Parliamentary Division of West Lindsey and the Ecclesiastical District of St Paul's. Their address was given as Walkerith Rd. Another son had appeared, John, who was presumably absent in 1881. Also George had either left home or died. In this survey, Frank Bernard Goulding had been born and was living with them and was listed as Frank B., son, 7 yrs, Scholar, and born in Morton, Lincolnshire. Also in the household was Ann Goulding 2, Twins David and Jonathan 7 months, John Goulding 14, Jonas Goulding, Lucy A Goulding 9, Mary Goulding 12, wife Sarah A Goulding 37, Sarah J Goulding 19 and Walter Goulding 5.

In 1901 she appeared to be in Lincolnshire living with her widowed mother.

"Ann (known as Nancy) married Raymond Harris who I think was one of Walter or David's friends in the army. They lived near Southend and had no children. Nancy was a real laugh. They only had a soil closet toilet and this used to be emptied periodically by men with a horse and cart. When she new they were on the way; Nancy would run round shutting all the windows and doors shouting
" the onky cart is coming" (Onky meaning stinky and it certainly was)-
I also remember they had a television. Black and white of course, with a big magnifying glass over the screen and a sheet of cellophane type stuff which had three band s of colour. Blue across the top (the sky). Red across the centre ( skin tones) and green across the bottom (the grass)." (Information from Nigel Ridley-Ellis)
