Leslie Burgis had 5 daughters to Gladys whom he married whilst he was in Britian serving with the R.A.A.F. He was a highly decorated airman.

Service No 410132 with the Royal Australian Airforce enlisting on 5 December 1941 in Hobart and was discharged on 18 Dec 1945 as a Flying Officer with the 16 th Aircrew Holding Unit.

Leslie married Gladys Marie JONES, daughter of Charles JONES and Ellen DALE, on 28 Dec 1944. (Gladys Marie JONES was born on 20 Aug 1918 in Blackley, Manchester, Eng, died on 23 Jun 2002 in Wynyard, Tasmania, Australia and was buried in Circular Head Lawn Cemetery, Circular Head, Tasmania, Australia.)
