John EVANS
- Born: Abt 1772
- Marriage: Margaret JENKINS in 1797 in Llantrisant, Glamorgan, Wales
General Notes:
"Ilantrisant and Cymer, JOHN EVAN AND ANN LEWIS The family to which I now turn was not an immigrant one. It had long associations with the ancient borough of Llantrisant, of which several generations of its members were freemen. John Evan (I), shoemaker, Llantrisant., married Margaret Jenkins, spinster, in 1791. It seems likely that he was the "John.Evans, cordwainer" admitted a freeman on the 25th Oct., 1788. (Reference 10). Three sons were born to the marriage, John (II), Evan and David."*
*Monograph: 'Notes on the families of Rev. Morgan Humphrey Jones and Margaret Ann' (Evans) by Owen Morris Page 15 (Reference 10) Bishop's Transcripts of Llanhisant Parish Register 1717-1813. The marriage (but not the date) is also recorded in John Evans (II)'s Bible.
John married Margaret JENKINS in 1797 in Llantrisant, Glamorgan, Wales. (Margaret JENKINS was born about 1774.)
