According to family heresay, the surname CROWE is also associated with William - it is said that when he arrived in Adelaide he deserted ship, and then changed his name (to Jones? or Crowe?) prior to going to Durham-Leed where he worked in the mines as a foreman in charge of Chinese workers?
His marriage certificate (above) lists his parents names as being George JONES and Elizabeth Rogers, and his children all had the surname Jones!
